Christopher Anstey was born on 1 January 1975 in Melbourne, Victoria. He is a retired basketball player and current coach of the Melbourne Tigers. At the age of 15, he was a Tennis player. Then he started playing basketball at the age of 17 years. He joined Melbourne Tigers in 1974 and become the one of the star-studded basketball personalities like Andrew Gaze, Lindsay Gaze, and Lanard Copeland. From 1995 to 1997 he played for South East Melbourne Magic.

From 1997 to 1999 Christopher Anstey was in Dallas Mavericks and played for the club. Then from 1999 to 2000 he featured for the Chicago Bulls and played the duration of the entire season with much success. For the season 2001 to 2002 Christopher Anstey was a part of Victoria Titans club and led the club to a number of close biting victories. A change in clubs featured Christopher Anstey to star for Ural Great for 2002-2003 season, where he delivered solid performances. From there on, until 2005 he was the member of the club UNIC Kazan and played for the entire season. The time period from 2005 to 2010 was the source of respite for Chris, as he featured the Melbourne Tigers for a consecutive five years back to back.

In 1997 Christopher Anstey was selected for NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. He returned to NBL with the Victoria Titans in 2001 to 2002. He played semi final for NBL in year 1995. He was the most improved player of NBL Championship in 1996. He was NBL Championships runner up in 1997. He played for Australian National under-22 team. He won World Championship. He played for Named Tournament MVP. He was selected at number 18th in the NBA draft.

In 1998 Christopher Anstey represented Australia at the Goodwill games. In 1999 he traded to Chicago Bulls in the FBA’s offseason. In the year 2000 he won the Hong Kong Diamond Ball Classic. He finished at 4th position in the Sydney Olympics. In the year 2002 he got NBL All Star Five. He was named as Australian International player of the year. He was the runner up to the Russian Championship in 2003. He got the Russian Championship All Star Five. After that he got Russian Championship All Important Team.

In 2003 Christopher Anstey got the ULEB Cup MVP. In 2005 he played for FIBA Europe League All Star. In 2008 he played for NBL Regular Season MVP for Melbourne Tigers. Then he played for NBL Champions for Melbourne Tigers.

Christopher Anstey played earned NBL best Defensive player for Melbourne Tigers. After that he played for 1st place NBL rankings for defensive and total rebounds and blocks. He played with UNIC Kazan and got an All Star Season. He became All Star again in 2005. Then he returned Australia with his team of Melbourne Tigers.

He enjoyed the success, leading the NBL in blocks in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009; and in rebounding in 2008 and 2009; earning the NVP in 2006 and 2008 and grand finals MVP in 2006. Christopher Anstey scored 13 points in the final and decided to retire from the highest level in 2010.
